Mount Agamenticus, Winter 2011

The View North from Mount Agamenticus (Winter 2011).
The Green Mountains of Vermont are off in the distance.

Living in Maine means loving the outdoors. At least that’s how I am coming to see the state. In the summer, it is simply too beautiful to stay inside. The beaches are awesome; the rivers and lakes are at least as fun. The woods are inviting in all four seasons. It’s certainly cold in the long, dark winter months. But the cold and limited daylight make getting outdoors even more important. And the snow-covered landscape completely changes the experience of the outdoors.

Of course, working at a campus with gorgeous ocean views from the mouth of the Saco River makes it a little easier to see the bright side of even the darkest months.
