Write Portfolio Content for Personal Website

Subscribe to the RSS Feed

The portfolio area of your personal website is the place where you'll collect and present your work for the course. At a minimum, it should include the following components:

I encourage you to also add additional material to your portfolio. Make it your place to catalog your creative and intellectual work! (Ideas include your resume, a good paper, a video project, poetry, graphics work, and photography.

Your Task

  1. For each required component, you need a brief (3-6 sentences) description that introduces the component, and that helps the reader understand your goals for the component. What are you up to with it, and what did you get out of it?
  2. The Blog Link is the easiest component because it consists of the brief reflection and a link to the blog.
  3. For the Tip, Trick, or Tutorial component, put the reflection on the "portfolio" page and make a link to a new page that includes the tip, trick, or tut. If you opt to make a video tutorial, I'll help you get the video embedded in the page.
  4. For the Software or Interface Review, put the reflection on the "portfolio" page and make a link to a new page that includes the review. If you opt to make a video tutorial, I'll help you get the video embedded in the page. You also need a print review to accompany the video.
  5. For the image(s) component, put the reflection on the "portfolio" page and make a link to a new page with the image or images. For the header graphic, be sure to include both the original image and your finished header image. Credit the source of your original image. (Consider resizing your header to fit your "content" area if it doesn't fit well.)
