This video has a lot of important terms used when printing. With this video, as the woman talks about the four main types of artistic printing, I could explain a little more in depth and what some the words she is using means.
Printmaking is an extremely time consuming process. It takes carving mediums and a little bit of ink to create beautiful artistic editions. It is easy to become an expert in printing because of how much focused time it requires. First you make a design you are interested in and transfer it on a medium. Next, you choose from many carving tools(depending upon what you are working on) to carve the medium. Lastly you roll out ink onto the medium of choice and use wet cotton paper to transfer your image through a printing press. You can quickly fall in love with this step by step process because of how beautiful your prints come out. Most printmakers take a lot of pride in their editions due to the fact of how much work goes into it.
