As a huge music lover, I’m constantly going to concerts. Although I would prefer to use my own photos during my daily creates, I was inspired to use this photo because it’s a picture of my favorite singer and the picture was taken by one of my friends (http://www.nkatsphoto.com). The singer, Lights, is constantly using bright vivid colors with everything she does (I mean do you see her hair?) so I knew a picture from her most recent tour would suffice.  Even though I was at this show I was too close (and too busy dancing) to get an action shot like this.

I took this picture at a music festival this past week but I didn’t know what to use it for since the face was so…unique. When I saw that this was the daily create, I automatically knew I wanted to use it. I usually work Mondays so it was nice to have the day off, so my face in this picture represents how I feel pretty accurately.

Today’s daily create is something that we can all relate to…the joy of Mondays. After a long and fun weekend, why would we want to get out of bed and go back to work? I ask this question every Monday morning when my alarm clock goes off early in the morning.

Making this meme today was actually fun and pretty easy. When thinking about how I feel on a Monday morning, the grumpy cat picture always come to mind, which is why I thought that it would be perfect for this daily create.

In order to make this meme, I went onto imgflip.com and used their meme generator tool. What I like the most about this website is that it is pretty straight forward, and is super easy to use to beginners. Luckily, to in order to make this meme I did not have to search very far for the grumpy cat picture. The website has 1000s of pictures already uploaded to the site. However, if you want to feel creative, there is an option to use your own photo.

Once I chose the grumpy cat picture, I then added the text. Once I was done with that, I clicked on the generate meme button. This brought me to another page with the meme complete. I then used the snipping tool on my laptop and saved it to my computer so that I could upload it.

What about anyone else, do you feel like the grumpy cat on Mondays?

I used this picture because I thought it was one of the prettiest sunsets I’ve ever seen. It’s an older picture that I took in Delaware. It was funny that this was the daily create because the other day I was clearing out old photos and I almost deleted this picture, but I kept it just in case.

This Daily Create was pretty easy. We had to find a picture or a song, or anything really, that made our hearts sing. Even though the process of thinking of what made me happy, as there are a lot of things that make me happy, was the difficult part. I also wanted to incorporate something that I haven’t used. I was going to include my cat, but I already used him in a different assignment. So, I decided to put a picture that I took on a trip to Portland Head Light. I love going there, especially in the summer months when everything is bright and colorful. The people visiting are always very nice and everyone just loves to take pictures for everyone. It’s one of my favorite places to take my friends who haven’t been to visit the lighthouse yet.

As I’m sitting here with a pretty bad sunburn, I was inspired to use it as my topic for this daily create. I’ve always had pale skin that burns easily (it’s the Irish in me). No matter what I do and how often I apply sunscreen, I still manage to get burnt. My left arm is constantly red and about three shades darker than my other arm because it always gets burnt on my 20 minute drive to work. During the archaeology dig the past few weeks, I applied SPF 70+ water-resistant sunscreen (because yanno, working on a beach) and on the first day both of my shoulder blades could have been mistaken for a lobster.

Today’s daily create was actually kind of fun and interesting to do! For today’s daily create, the website told us to try making our name using different characters. While the website did say to try using Tifinagh, I used a different approach in order to create mine and I love how it came out.

In order to create my daily create, I went on Microsoft word and created a text box. Once I drew my textbook, I decided to use a beach picture to add more detail to the picture and make it look more interesting. I also really want to go to the beach right now! Then I decided to play around with all of the different symbol fonts on word. This was when I decided to try the wingdings font. Afterwards, I used the snipping tool on my laptop in order to take a picture of it so I could save it on my computer.

Overall, I am very excited about my daily create and I think that it came out awesome!

For the past few days all of the daily creates have not interested me at all. However, for some reason when going on tonight I thought that “telling the world what you want to see” was super interesting. In order to create this picture, I decided to go back to the same meme generator that I used for our previous assignment, https://imgflip.com/memegenerator. This site is so user friendly and I am already very comfortable with it. When I went onto the page, I already knew that I wanted to do something about children.

My first step when creating this picture was trying to find a picture that had children in the background. The first few pages of pictures that I went through mostly just had pictures of children playing on their tablets. This was when I knew exactly what my picture was going to say. After selecting the picture, I went to the text box and entered in what I wanted to say. After my meme picture was created, I used the snipping tool on my laptop in order to save it to my photos folder so I could add it to my twitter account.

I really enjoyed this daily create! I got a wicked good shot of a biface the other day and didn’t really have anywhere to share it since I didn’t have enough to write a blog post about it. This daily create allowed me to put my photo to good use, and to share my love and passion for archaeology. As I said in the photo caption, if more people cared about archaeology then we wouldn’t struggle with funding and demand for excavation.  People only care about large “wow” artifacts, and even then it only captures their attention for a few moments. By letting people know that “those little flecks in the ground” tell us that there was civilization living off this same land thousands of years ago, it really sparks their interest because it makes them think about the history of the land.

For today’s daily create, I decided to create my own flower for my garden. With that being said, I decided that it would be awesome to create a word flower (since this is an English course). Instead of just coming up with random words, I thought that it would cool to come up with a collection of words that were specific to flowers. At first, I decided to create a word it out because I had done them last semester in one of education courses. However, I was not pleased with how they were coming out. To me, it just looked dull and boring. Then I decided to take a different approach to this assignment and thought, is there anyway I can use these words to actually create a flower?

I spent a while going through Microsoft Word trying to see if there was anyway I could make a flower using words. However, this took way too much time and I could not figure it out. After about an hour of frustration, I decided to go on google and see if there was a “word it out” app that I could turn into the shape of a flower. This is when I found the website Word Art. Word Art was so easy so use and so much fun! The first step to making a Word Art is to add all of the words that you want (it is important though that you add each word individually). Then you click on shapes and choose what shape you want. In this case, I chose the flower. After that, you create the visualize button and the magic appears. This daily create was a lot of fun!

For this daily create, I was asked to come up with a fancy slogan for the picture. When looking at the picture, I will admit that it took me a few minutes to think about what it could be. Since I am a toddler teacher, I always try to find the fun in everything. With that being said, I thought that it would only be appropriate to turn this picture into a toy store. Despite the fact that there are no toys in this picture, I looked at all of the things that could be done. For example, you could listen to the aliens using the satellites or you could create something new using the chemistry beaker on the top.

When creating this slogan I first tried to do it on a website called Canvas. However, I found that sight to be more confusing and I never figured out how to rotate it so I could add a slogan. After a while of frustration, I tired another idea. I went back to Flicker (where the picture it posted, took a screen shot of it and saved it. Then I went onto Microsoft Word and added the picture. After adding the picture, I then added a text box above it. I make the text box black so that it matched the bottom of the picture and used white as a text color so that it stands out. Finally, to add a little touch I added wand to it to make it more personal to me. Once I was done with this picture, I used my snipping tool again, took another screen shot of it, and then posted it. After figuring out the best way to create this daily create, it was very easy!
