Daily Create #tdc2689

I found today’s @ds106dc interesting and it really took me a long time to think about before I could finally decide which aspect of my terribly messy life I would share with the internet. As far as detritus collections go, there is anything in this house from the collection of half lost pairs of socks to the “mystery cord bucket” that no one seems to ever return to after dropping off a cord that they just couldn’t remember where it came from (most are from old VHS boxes and such). I chose these teddy bears to expose myself with because the thing about them is the collection never really stops. It literally gets bigger every year. This is honestly a problem- please call my grandma and tell her to stop. This is not a practicle gift. At the same time though, it is interesting to look back and see that I have been collecting these bears since 1998- wow!

The Daily Create for May 23, 2019 was to post a picture or describe a household detritus that I have. I took this as a space that is cluttered with belongings that have been there for a while, remaining untouched. Since I have just moved to Portland, I have boxes and bins in my bedroom of my new apartment full of my clothes and other various belongings. Instead of unpacking, they have been sitting in the corner of my bedroom. I have only gone through them to get what I need, although it would be easier if I were to just unpack. These bins and boxes are full of all of my belongings I deemed worthy enough to make the trip to Portland, although there is probably contents within the box that I do not need and they will end up remaining my household detritus.

5/23/19 – Post a picture or describe personal household detritus.

Since I struggle with cleaning compulsions, so I don’t have much in terms of detritus but I do have this big paper bag for recyclables (sorry the image is tilted, it wouldn’t allow me to upload it right-side up) that is next to my desk. I emptied it a few days ago but previously it had plastics, paper covers, receipts, old sticky notes, and drawing drafts, but now it just has cardboard and tissue paper remains from my mailed textbooks for my other class.
